She lost out to Anton in the sing-off, who will go through to next week’s show. And as Olly predicted, she wasn’t saved.
Olly immediately took to Twitter afterwards, posting to his followers: “I apologise to everyone tonight I made a massive f%#k (sic) up at the end”.
Simon Cowell’s act Max Stone was first to go after receiving the lowest number of public votes, followed by one of Rita Ora’s girls Monica Michael after she lost in the sing-off against Anton Stephans.
After the sing-off it was revealed that Monica had finished in the bottom two and she was voted off the show by the public.
The 2004 X Factor victor compared the situation to being diagnosed with HIV by an indecisive Doctor, tweeting: “Dr Murs, “Sorry you have HIV, actually no, sorry I’m wrong”.
The incident prompted a reaction from fans, many of whom came to his defence following backlash including allegations the result was rigged.

Addressing the slip-up by presenter Olly Murs, when he got confused over the results on Sunday night, she added: “Backstage, he was absolutely devastated, so I feel really sorry for him”.
