Kris Bryant was named the Baseball Writers Association of America’s National League Rookie of the Year.

Bryant hit 43 home runs at Double-A Tennessee and Triple-A Iowa in 2014, and his home run off Kershaw – a two-run shot – was the first of two homers that led the Cubs to a 4-2 win on June 22.
According to MLB.com, Bryant won the NL Rookie of the Year award with a unanimous vote after coming in as the overall favorite. The voting was relatively close; Correa received 17 first-place votes, worth five points each, and 13 second-place votes, worth three points, giving him 124 points overall.
Bryant became the fifth Cubs rookie named to the All-Star Game, and he became the youngest Cubs third baseman to be named to the NL All-Star team since Ron Santo (23) in 1963. 279 with 22 home runs and 68 RBI and was a key contributor to the Astros first post-season berth in a decade.
The 21-year-old certainly live up to the hype as he entered the 2015 season as Major League Baseball’s top prospect. He also stole 13 bases.
