While Boston College is a flawless game to play with a jumbo-sized SAM linebacker, Onwualu serves as a Swiss-Army backer, capable in coverage and getting better each week in the trenches.

That’s probably a good thing. The first of those three games is this Saturday as the Irish take on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Deshone Kizer completed 19 of 26 passes for 262 yards and five touchdowns.

The Irish, of course, simply need wins in both those games to prolong the playoff hopes.

“We’re a rhythm-type team”, said Muuss. “We’re moving forward. We have a win streak going”.
But once again, the resilient Irish avoided disaster by doing what they do best thanks to a 147-yard performance from Adams who posted the second 100-plus yard game of his freshman year in relief of the senior.
“He is a young man that runs tough, physical, between the tackles, and has size, strength and speed”, Kelly said. “Just a terrific run when we’re backed up like that”.

After the Irish stopped Wake Forest on the 1-yard line in the second quarter, Adams had the longest scoring play from scrimmage in Notre Dame history. We set out for the league, the ACC tournament, and the national championship.
