Breaking down the good and bad from Alabama’s win over Mississippi State

Now comes the week off vs. Charleston Southern before the showdown with Auburn.

Prescott has beaten every team in the SEC West in his career – he’s 21-8 as a starter – except one. “And have enough diversity in our players up front that whether we’re playing a running team or a passing team they can adapt”.

Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott threw for 300 yards.

After a scoreless first quarter, Alabama broke the game open in the second. All that matters is getting to 11-1, and then leave it up to the D against, most likely, Alabama.

Every year that Alabama loses early it rallies and improves. A few consider this a trap game for the Crimson Tide, and we’ll find out when we watch the Alabama game live streaming or on TV tonight. It’s as easy as that.

One week after jumping into the driver’s seat in the SEC West with a big win over LSU, Alabama solidified its position as a national frontrunner in Starkville, leaving little doubt after a slow first quarter. The Wildcats now have to win their two remaining games, and that may be tough because the November 28 season finale is against Louisville.

Football life for the Crimson Tide won’t get much easier from here on out. “They were going to force the quarterback and receivers to make plays”. The Bulldogs have averaged 40.75 points during their four-game winning streak and are coming off a 31-13 victory at Missouri in a driving rain.

If anyone thought Alabama would have a hangover after last week’s win over LSU, they were sadly mistaken. Who knows? Somehow, in the face of a mountain of adversity and a laundry list of distractions, the Tigers found a way to beat a quality opponent in BYU. Western Carolina was never going to be a problem, but it would’ve been a plus if everything was humming perfectly going into a unsafe game – don’t laugh – against Vanderbilt. Vandy’s defense has been stout in the last half of the season, so all the Commodores needed was a spark of offense. A ten-win season is still possible, but with the inconsistencies, that’s going to be a tall, tall order. The quarterback has been flying under the radar for much of this season, but he is a real threat while playmakers like De’Runnya Wilson have been thriving at the right time. Texas A&M is hardly rocking and rolling – the Vandy D could rise up and pull off the stunner at home.

According the conference release, the Citrus Bowl gets first pick after the CFP selection process is completed (which includes the playoff and Sugar Bowl) and the Outback, TaxSlayer, Music City, Texas, Belk, and Liberty all fall into a “pool of six” that will be decided by the conference after consultations with the individual schools. At the very least, this continues to be a competitive team with plenty of hope for the future – if there’s any offense. People have recently started referring to this game as the “hangover game” because it has came immediately after a huge game between LSU and Alabama.

Alabama’s pass rush looked contagious Saturday, and by that, I mean that once Dak Prescott went down for two sacks on the first series, you could see that all the defensive linemen wanted to get one and knew they would have a good chance. This week’s big challenge will be stopping the league’s most prolific dual-threat quarterback.
