Jaguars get a victory to savor at expense of sinking Ravens
The Ravens’ 22-20 loss to the Jaguars in front of an announced 70,837 at M&T Bank Stadium provided yet another painful and stunning chapter in a season full of them.

But it will be a long time before they forget it and it may have turned their season around. The Colts are 4-5 and will be without quarterback Andrew Luck for multiple weeks. Take the points with a Jacksonville squad that is 6-2 against the spread in its last eight games following a loss. Bortles slipped after the snap, got back up and then was sacked by Dumervil.
They finally took advantage, and did so in miracle fashion – and in unbelievably wild, improbable fashion as well.
The game appeared to be lost for the Jaguars until Ravens linebacker Elvis Dumerville committed a face mask penalty sacking quarterback Blake Bortles on what would have been the game’s final play. Myers was asked to kick a 53-yard field and the attempt was good, winning Jacksonville the game, 22-20.
The Ravens couldn’t hang on, and now they’re 6-2 under coach John Harbaugh coming off a bye. Had false start been called, it would have resulted in a 10-second runoff and ended the game.
It set off a big celebration from coach Gus Bradley and the rest of the Jaguars’ team.
Apparently, they got away with not being precise.
The Jacksonville Jaguars are another very young team who has been very fun to watch this season. Blake Bortles has thrown at least two scoring passes in a franchise record-tying four consecutive games. He didn’t call out those (blush) who wrote after the game that the refs got it right.
“I don’t know what else you can say about that”, Harbaugh said.
The Jaguars hardly could have had more chances Sunday.
The Jaguars started the game with the ball, but the offense went three-and-out, gaining only one-yard on the ground.
Notes: Ravens C Jeremy Zuttah left in the fourth quarter with a shoulder injury…. The league could also expand the replay system to make anything reviewable that impacts a game in the final two minutes of play, even if it requires a 20-minute meeting among the replay officials in NY to re-read the rulebook and make sure everybody is on the same page.
In his second game back from a knee injury, Jacksonville defensive tackle Sen’Derrick Marks made key contributions in the Jaguars’ 34-31 victory over the Buffalo Bills on October 25. During the possession, Bortles threw 17 yards to Bryan Walters on third-and-7 and scrambled 14 yards on second-and-6. Flacco was responsible for three turnovers in the second half and finished 34-of-45 for 316 yards, three touchdowns, two interceptions and a fumble. Baltimore’s turnover ratio is even worse, at -9.
-RUN DEFENSE: B. The Jaguars held former Jaguar Justin Forsett to just 53 yards in 14 carries as the Jaguars’ run defense held him in check. The run defense has become the strength of the Jaguars’ defense.

Against the Ravens, the Jaguars managed a season-low 258 yards, missed a 26-yard field goal – the shortest miss in the National Football League this season – and scored just three points off three turnovers in the third quarter. Bryan Anger had seven punts and didn’t drop any of them inside the 20.
