According to the studio, the title had been suggested during conceptual work on the game. In that note, they include a tiny bit of backstory regarding their naming decision. If you’ve been following the project you will already, know a fair bit about it but for everyone else Pit People is a “strategic game of positioning” playable in single-player, two player co-op, or 2v2 PvP.

“Pit People was the name written on the original concept sketch that started it all”, said Paladin. Every interaction took place in an arena. Here, we are treated to a grid and turn-based adventure game. A name chosen for a key story beat that occurs in the game. “In the end, we’re in the beginning!!!!!!!!!!”, the developer wrote.
