The Jacksonville Jaguars look to remain in the playoff hunt despite a 3-6 record. While both teams belong in the category of mediocre (or as it’s known to the National Football League: The AFC South), their hopes of winning a divisional title are not out of reach. The only way that will happen is if the Jaguars can find a way to steal the division away from the two-time defending AFC South-champion Colts.

It’s the bad side of the short week that should have the Titans concerned.
Thankfully RBs Bishop Sankey and Delanie Walker will be available, but it will be harder to rack up quick, easy yards without Hunter and Wright. Wright is sidelined with a sprained ligament in his left knee.
Never mind that a win would still leave the Titans four games below. McCourty originally suffered the injury in training camp on August 6 and had surgery on August 24. On Carolina’s opening drive of the second half, safety MICHAEL GRIFFIN sacked Panthers quarterback CAM NEWTON for a seven-yard loss, notching his first sack of the season. Last year, the Titans were 2-14 and the Jaguars 3-13 and, not surprisingly, they’re still struggling. The Titans run defense is very good, and Wesley Woodyard leads a young and impressive linebacker unit. These two teams have met on 41 occasions and the Titans are now leading the series 23-18.
“After losing a game like (the Panthers game)…we want to get the taste out of our mouths, ” Douglas said. I’ve got a soft spot in my heart for the Jaguars, but if the Jags are missing Yeldon or Hurns they could be in for a rough matchup.
Hurns missed practice Monday while visiting a sports hernia specialist in Philadelphia, but he was full go Tuesday and is expected to play. “And then Wednesday, it will be a Saturday-type tempo”. Bortles completed just 48.9 percent of his passes for 188 yards with two touchdowns and an interception in a 22-20 victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. That could partially be due to the lack of pass rushing presence from Sen’Derrick Marks but also because the defense has allowed Miller to become more of a pass rusher. The Tennessee Titans ground game is averaging 97.4 yards per contest, and Antonio Andrews leads the way with 298 yards and two touchdowns.
As I said before, Blake Bortles is the future of this team. And if they somehow win that one, that same mentality will have to carry them through much of the rest of the schedule as well.
BOLD RUSH: The teams will wear color rush uniforms for the game, with the Titans clad in light blue jerseys, pants, socks and shoes, and the Jaguars donning an all-gold ensemble. Every other team in the league has at least two rushing touchdowns.

-SPECIAL TEAMS: C-plus. Ryan Succop made his only field-goal try, a 45-yarder. He also scored on a short keeper but was intercepted in the end zone.
