Chevrolet prices new Cruze starting at $17495

You might be surprised that the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze, being a spacious and redesigned compact sedan, is priced less than that of the 2016 Honda Civic LX.

The midrange 2016 Cruze LS starts at $19,995, including shipping. The base L model comes only with a six-speed manual transmission, and the LS will have the manual as standard and a six-speed automatic as optional. Finally, we have the LT and the Premier packages, both of which come with a standard automatic transmission.

Suggested retail pricing for all models: L manual – $17,495; LS manual: $18,995; LS automatic: $19,995; LT automatic: $21,995; and Premier automatic: $23,995. That model of the Cruze also undercuts the majority of its other competition as well, with the base Cruze coming in cheaper than the 2016 Toyota Corolla L and the 2016 Hyundai Elantra SE (a new, 2017 Elantra will go on sale next year). The 2015 LS with a manual transmission started at $18,570 and the LS automatic started at $19,695, so the 2016 LS models increased by $425 and $300, respectively. The Eco model isn’t on the second-generation roster, but Chevrolet says it will add a diesel in 2017. The MyLink infotainment system with a 7 inch screen is also standard on this base model vehicle and the price, with destination, begins at just $17,495.
