A consumer watch group is out with a list of what it says is the ten most unsafe toys for children this holiday season.

This year, that list includes a realistic-looking, foam dart-firing toy pistol.
According to the US Consumer Protection Safety Commission, there were nine toy-related deaths of children in 2013, down from 11 in 2012, along with more than 256,000 toy-related visits to hospital emergency rooms.
One of the toys on this list is the Jurassic World Velociraptor Claws by Hasbro for potential eye and facial injuries.
Also, avoid the “Stats 38 Quick Folding Trampoline”. WATCH says the toys singled out this year represent common problems and aren’t the only potentially risky products on the market.
WATCH says the “Poo-Dough” contains wheat and could cause allergy-related injuries such as hives, headaches and difficulty breathing.
“Consumers buying toys on the Internet, they’re already at a disadvantage, not being able to thoroughly inspect and physically examine a toy for more obvious hazards”, said Siff. We have a list of this year’s worst toys. “By law, all toys sold in the United States, no matter where in the world they are made, must first meet 100+ rigorous safety tests and standards and be certified as compliant by an independent, federally approved testing lab. These USA safety requirements are among the strictest in the world and are in place to ensure the safety of children as they revel in the joy and benefits of play”.
