This year, the company told its suppliers to produce 85 million to 90 million units of handsets with 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays. Apart from having the same screen sizes, the new iPhones will also bear the same screen resolution.

As for what features the iPhone 6s will bring to the table, it’s been widely reported that Apple’s new iPhone models will include a Force Touch display.
The team at Hello Heart, an app that helps iPhone and Apple Watch owners monitor their blood pressure, found that watch owners were more engaged with their health than iPhone-only users. Reported by Wall Street Journal, the record initial production target stems from the company’s confidence that buyers will flock to buy the new iPhone even if there are no radical changes introduced in the new devices. “So if China is slowing, it’s one of the bigger smartphone markets, it’s probably going to be an issue, because that’s where Apple has opportunity to gain a few share”. Force Touch is the next most significant sensing feature following the Multi-Touch.

It seems that Apple’s upcoming smartphone, the so-called iPhone 6s will be slightly thicker than last year’s models. The Chicago Board Options Exchange Apple VIX Index, a gauge of demand for options on the iPhone maker’s stock, has jumped 31 per cent since Tuesday, its biggest two-day increase since March 2012.
