The male victim was standing on the sidewalk at around 1:10 p.m. PT when “suddenly, for no reason”, a man approached and began stabbing him with a large kitchen knife, LAPD Cmdr. His name was not released.

The victim, described by police as a tourist in his 20s visiting Los Angeles with family, was taken to a hospital and underwent surgery.

A nearby worker handed Ramos cable ties, which he used to secure Offerman’s hands until Los Angeles police arrived to make an arrest, he said. Investigators say the attack was unprovoked.

Police were interviewing a slew of witnesses who saw the stabbing and collecting extensive surveillance video, Smith said.

“Everyone started running to the windows”. “He got sliced in the head, he got sliced in the neck, arms…there was a puddle of blood just sitting on the ground”. The guy who was stabbed was competent to stand, Brown said.

Brown said that no one could enter or leave the building until police cordoned off the crime scene and Sephora workers locked in the company during the strike.

“I was thinking, ‘Is this actually happening?'” Brown said.

The two members of New York’s Finest drew their guns as the knife-waving attacker stabbed the victim.

“If it were not for the actions of these heroic officers, it’s likely that this person would not have survived”, Smith said.
