Everton manager Roberto Martinez has told Barcelona they will not succeed with any potential bid for John Stones in the January transfer window.

Barcelona reportedly had scouts in attendance at England’s friendly defeat to Spain, to watch Everton defender John Stones.

And Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley have also been linked with big-spenders Manchester United.

‘As I have said many, many times, we do not have to balance any books.

“We’ve gone through this worldwide break with real feelings of satisfaction because we haven’t picked up any injuries and the group look very strong”.

Speaking ahead of Saturday’s home clash with Aston Villa, Martinez suggested Everton would not be involved in much business at all during January.

“But we don’t look at this as a window where we will, be really involved, to bring players or to sell players. It’s about developing competition for places between the ones we already have”.

When Everton manager Roberto Martínez informed Stones, 21, that, he added that he would one day move somewhere better than Stamford Bridge.

Barkley’s performances for England have also put him on several clubs’ radar while Coleman has consistently been amongst the most impressive right backs in the Premier League while helping Ireland to qualify for the Euro finals.

“It’s a flawless way to show the game has a strong role in getting humanity together to show that solidarity”.

Baines has come through a behind-closed-doors game against Preston without any issues but Martinez is not looking to rush the England defender, who has been out since May following two separate ankle operations, back into action.

With Chelsea languishing in 16th position in the Premier League table, there’s no reason for Stones to leave Goodison Park and he’s determined to help the Toffees reach European football.
