What George Lucas Thinks of the New Star Wars

In addition to Star Wars: Battlefront, which was released earlier this week, EA’s Visceral Games is hard at work on another Star Wars game that’ll likely launch sometime next year.

The “Attack the Block” star admitted he’s still trying to convince director J.J. Abrams to let him take the prop home.

He spoke to “CBS This Morning” co-host Charlie Rose about his decision to never direct another “Star Wars” picture. He also hopes that “the Force doesn’t get muddled into a bunch of gobbledygook”. “If I keep it secret until the day it comes out, I get that payment”.

Star Wars: Battlefront is only the beginning of a ten-year Star Wars onslaught from EA, according to CFO Blake Jorgensen. The character seeks to model himself off the late Darth Vader and leads the group of characters known as The Knights of Ren. Experimental indies get made every year (i’m looking at you, A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night) and although they might not make Star Wars money, they are still seen by an audience. While the last few trailers have focused on heroine Rey (Daisy Ridley), this one gives the spotlight to Finn, along with some new footage of Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and the unstoppable BB-8. “And if it leaks, we’ll know it’s you, ‘” Hamill recalled.

‘So I said ‘Ok, I will go my way and I’ll let them go their way’. But then he says, “Now it’s happening all over again”.

And, in case you’re keeping track, there’s still no sign of Luke Skywalker.
