Based on each player’s highest ranking among the four major recruiting services, United Kingdom got the No. 2, 5, 6, 10 and 16 players in the Class of 2016.
Bentonville High School guard Malik Monk announced Wednesday on Twitter his decision to play basketball at Kentucky.
It was a devastating loss to Arkansas because Monk’s brother played both football and basketball for the Razorbacks. A day after landing 6-10 power forward Edrice Adebayo, who is considered by many as the second best PF in the senior class after Duke-bound Harry Giles, the top ranked shooting guard in the nation Malik Monk of Bentonville, Arkansas made his pledge to Big Blue Nation this morning via Twitter (see below). “I want to thank my Mother and Brother for being there for me throughout this entire process”.
The Kentucky Wildcats entered the early signing period with a borderline top-10 class and zero top-10 recruits. In saying this, I will be continuing my maturation as a student athlete at the University of Kentucky.
He joins point guard De’Aaron Fox, forwards Wenyen Gabriel and Sacha Killeya-Jones, and center Bam Adebayo in UK’s class of 2016.
“This has been the toughest decision I have made in my life”, Monk said in the statement.

Former Razorbacks great Bobby Portis, who now plays for the Chicago Bulls, didn’t like the decision.
