A body, which Leicestershire Police said earlier on Thursday they believed to be Kayleigh’s, was pulled from undergrowth near a lake in Ibstock on Wednesday.
Luke Harlow, 27, also of George Avenue, Ibstock, has been charged with grooming and two counts of sexual activity with a child.
The heartbreaking discovery was made by officers searching farmland near Ibstock, Leicestershire, last night.
Last night Chief Superintendent David Sandall said: “Tonight, we have discovered a body in a field”.
Formal identification of the body has not yet taken place.
One unnamed friend told the Daily Mail that Kayleigh might have met up with a 27-year-old man she had been messaging on Facebook.
A mobile phone belonging to Kayleigh was recovered in Ibstock and undisclosed items of clothing thought to be linked to her were found in both Ibstock and Diseworth. “A big part of our lives has gone”.
Two men remain in police custody on supicion of murder. Kayleigh was a lively and fun-loving girl in her final GCSE year who had started Year 11 with a real determination to be successful. Everyone knows someone who knows Kayleigh and you could see the purple ribbons everywhere.
Tuesday evening: Kayleigh’s brother, Kyle Haywood, breaks down in an interview with ITV as he reveals that he is “terrified” for his younger sister – and that the only thing keeping his family going is hope she may still be alive.

Speaking about the family, Rev Cox said: “They are distraught and distressed at this time, but thankful for the support and the love that is being shown to them”. “May the angels look after your baby girl”.
