Officials did not release the make and model plane they were searching for, or how many people may have been on board.
The Croton Falls Fire Department, Yorktown Heights Fire Department, Civil Air Patrol, and State Police aviation also assisted in the search. Earlier this week, state police divers searched its waters for clues in the November 9 killing of North Salem’s Lois Colley, the 83-year-old Titicus Road resident who was found bludgeoned to death in her home near the lake. It will begin again around 6 a.m.
The search continues in Westchester for a missing aircraft en route to CT that possibly crashed.
There are unconfirmed reports an eyewitness saw the plane go down.
The search was suspended around 1 a.m. due to heavy fog.
