Prince Charles touched down in Adelaide Tuesday, the first British royal to visit Australia since staunch republican Malcolm Turnbull became prime minister, amid a revived debate over whether Canberra is ready to ditch its monarchy ties.

“I was just hoping that he didn’t think I was a insane stalker”.

The royals spent the first day of their Australian tour in South Australia’s Barossa Valley, where they were greeted by hundreds of well wishers in the town of Tanunda.
Charles, recently made a Field Marshall of the New Zealand Army, visited the military personnel at the headquarters of exercise Southern Katipo in Westport.
