A man has been arrested on suspicion of trying to punch Kayla, Crystal Palace’s bald eagle mascot.

The man – who has not been named – 34, from Welling, was arrested this morning on the suspicion of attempted criminal damage and violent disorder.

This is their third season back in England’s top division, and their sixth season of using a bald eagle by the name of Kayla as a mascot to help live up to the team’s “Eagles” nickname.
