Longtime pop star Ricky Martin is up for three awards this year, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Contemporary Pop Vocal Album for his February 2015 release, A Quien Quiera Escuchar.

“My friend, how unbelievable that we made this disc together”, Lafourcade said to her friend and collaborator Leonel Garcia, with whom she shared three nominations as cowriters of the album’s title track.

The most talked above performance is “current nominees Bomba Estéreo and four-time GRAMMY victor Will Smith will share the stage for a show-stopping performance of their single Fiesta (Remix)”.

But the surprise victor of the biggest night in the Spanish- and Portuguese-language music industry was 58-year-old Dominican singer Juan Luis Guerra who took home the most prestigious prize of album of the year. For the first time, the telecast will also reach viewers in China. Last year, tickets to the awards show averaged $326 and in 2013, tickets averaged $481, showing a steady demand for the Latin Grammys over the last few years.

“Hasta la Raiz” also won for best alternative song and best alternative album.

Mana won the pop/rock album award for “Cama Incendiada”.
