L.A. Clippers keep DeAndre Jordan

This isn’t the first time a player has backed out of a deal with the Mavs. Pretty sure Mark Cuban would have thrown a ton on money on LaMarcus Aldridge and perhaps orchestrated an even better plan than a 7-foot-2 center that seems to think he’s a No. 2 option despite his inability to make free throws…LIABILITY. Bet that his lengthier response about the Jordan free-agency saga will also wind up on CyberDust for a double dose of promotion.

That’s right, when Cuban knew Jordan wasn’t coming back to the Mavericks and that a long and rough season awaited the Mavericks he offered their other big free agent signing Wesley Matthews the opportunity to seek another opportunity.

Another source reportedly claimed that the deal was done after some talks. “We all walk into these conversations understanding that as with any business contract, it’s not a deal until the paper is signed”.

The Los Angeles Clippers’ contingent – Doc Rivers, (owner) Steve Ballmer, Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, J.J. Paul told Jordan he had no idea he felt negatively about him and that he thought they were “brothers”.

With the Jordan recruitment likely to be spurned, another player linked to the Mavericks could be leaving as well – Amare Stoudemire. And Griffin sent out a tweet on Wednesday night with a picture of a chair underneath the handle of a door.

Typically, free agents are considered off limits once they strike verbal agreements with teams during the NBA’s annual moratorium period.

After sealing the deal with the Clippers, Jordan is said to leave on Thursday for a 10-day Caribbean cruise.

And this from Chris Paul, referencing his well-publicized banana boat ride with LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Gabrielle Union earlier in the week. Jordan wouldn’t even take phone calls from the Mavericks owner (what if all he wanted was to rent DeAndre a grandma?!?), and Griffin couldn’t help but make light of the whole situation. Both the Spurs and Rockets took to consistently fouling Jordan, interrupting the flow of the game but also interrupting the flow of the Clippers. Seraphin has made it clear he wants more playing time in addition to a raise from the $3.89 million salary he collected last season, his fifth with the Wizards. While it’s an unwritten rule that a team doesn’t pursue a player once he has verbally committed to another team, there’s no way it can actually be enforced and a punishment realistically issued because such a contract is unofficial.

So with Jordan safely ensconced within the team, the Clippers probably get the last laugh.
