4 more women join defamation suit against Bill Cosby

The comedian sought to have the suits dismissed, saying that the insurer was misreading the policy and that its actions threatened his defense.

Meanwhile, Cosby’s lawyers were expected to file a response Friday to another defamation lawsuit filed a year ago in federal court in MA.

In the new amended complaint, Bowman, Tarshis, Moritz, and Leslie all detail their encounters with Cosby.

All four women said that after they came forward with their stories of abuse, Cosby’s representatives publicly branded them as liars and their comments were labeled as “absurdity”.

On Thursday, Drexel and Bryant universities announced that they have rescinded honorary degrees given to Cosby in light of numerous accusations of sexual misconduct by dozens of women. Cosby has denied a few of the allegations and has never been charged with a crime.

The judge also “limited” the inquiry’s parameters to whether Cosby’s denial of Dickinson’s sexual assault was “malicious”.

She said Cosby agreed to mentor her and eventually moved her to NY.

Bowman alleges Cosby won her trust when she was a 17-year-old aspiring actress in 1985, then sexually assaulted her multiple times.

Angela Leslie, a former model and actress, claimed that the TV star forced her to touch his penis after pouring her a strong drink at a luxury Las Vegas hotel suite in 1992.

Marshall Searcy III, who is listed as Cosby’s attorney on the court filing, declined to comment. “This is their opportunity to have their day in court and to attempt to restore their good name and reputation”.

However, Cosby’s spokeswoman, Monique Pressley, said in a statement that Dickinson has not yet met the legal burden needed to compel Cosby and Singer to give depositions.
