Justin Bieber storms United Kingdom charts to equal John Lennon’s 1981 feat
Whilst it may not be the greatest news for Justin Bieber on the Official Albums Chart, it’s all different on the Singles Chart.

His eight top 40 entries see him break a record set by Elvis Presley in 1957, when he had seven songs in the top 40 singles chart.
The Canadian singer’s singles “Sorry”, “Love yourself” and “What do you mean” took first, third and fifth place. No other male artist has achieved this in 34 years, since John Lennon in January 1981 with Imagine (1), Happy Xmas (War Is Over) (3) and (Just Like) Starting Over (5) following his tragic death.
It is a new personal best for the 21-year-old.
Sadly, after three long weeks at the top, Adele has had a slight fall from grace as “Hello” has slipped to number 2, whilst Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” is at the top of the chart, according to the Official Charts Company.
Jess Glynne earns her eighth top 10 single with Take Me Home, which served as this year’s Children In Need single.
One Direction climbed from number 16 to number 10 with flawless following their performance on last week’s X Factor results show.
But it was narrowly beaten to top position in the album chart by four-piece boy band One Direction’s “Made in the A.M.” which is now the fastest-selling album of 2015.
“Purpose” broke the global and USA marks for the most streams for an album in its first week of release, with 205m global streams and 77m US streams, while 1D garnered 106m global streams.
Bieber is unsure whether Gomez has heard his album “Purpose“, but the Canadian songwriter was hopeful that Gomez would appreciate the songs, especially since a few of the tracks in “Purpose” were influenced by Bieber’s relationship with Gomez.
Both albums beat the previous biggest debut of 2015, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, which shifted 89,000 copies of Chasing Yesterday in March (15).
