Paris attacks ‘mastermind’ killed in police raid

Shooting broke out in a northern suburb of Paris during an anti-terrorist police operation on Wednesday, Nov 18.
Restaurants, a concert hall and a sports stadium were targeted by terrorists and suicide bombers Friday, killing at least 129 people and injuring more than 350 others. An eighth, Salah Abdeslam, is wanted and a ninth militant is also believed to be at large. Police officers were wounded by gunfire during the raid, CNN reported.

For his part, Manuel Valls, France’s prime minister, told RTL Radio: “We know that more attacks are being prepared, not just against France but also against other European countries”.
Seven of the attackers died during the attacks.

Highlighting USA fears over the attack, two Air France flights bound for Paris from the United States were diverted Tuesday and landed safely after anonymous threats that the carrier described as a “bomb scare”.
