Russian Federation to ban Ukrainian food imports from January

Speaking on the sidelines of the G20 summit this week, Putin said he had discussed Ukraine’s debt repayment with U.S. President Barack Obama and International Monetary Fund President Christine Lagarde, Russian media reported.

The biggest problem, he and other sources said, was that the proposal would leave Russian Federation better off than private bondholders who have agreed to write off part of Ukraine’s debt to them under the restructuring deal. Until now, Russian officials had insisted that Ukraine must pay the bond in full on December 20, and threatened legal action if its neighbor missed the deadline.

“There’s a high probability we will have to unilaterally protect our market from uncontrolled imports of goods from third parties through the customs territory of Ukraine, primarily from the European Union”, said Ulyukaev. Since then, Islamist terrorism has taken over the global agenda and provided common goal. More than 7,900 individuals have deceased in the contention in eastern Ukraine, as indicated by United Nations gauges. “I said that we’re ready to go for a more profound restructuring”.

He also said that Ukraine raised the issue of preventing the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline to the EU.

The restructured notes, which started trading last week, dropped for a second day, with the yield on the 2025 securities rising 10 basis points to 8.59 percent by 2:11 p.m.in Kiev.

David Lipton, first deputy managing director and acting chair of the IMF’s executive board, said “notwithstanding a strong policy-led adjustment effort” and the strong resolve of Ukraine’s authorities, the economy continues to suffer.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said the money was meant to ensure Yanukovych’s loyalty to Moscow, and called the payment a “bribe”, according to an interview with Bloomberg in June this year.
