The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 Review
“Mockingjay Part 2” is a very long movie and it can feel like it. It was more than 2 hours (137 minutes to be exact) of war, politics, and yes, the love triangle.

Katniss Everdeen, played by Jennifer Lawrence, volunteers as tribute in place of her sister Primrose to go into the Hunger Games, a savage competition where tributes from each of the 12 Districts go in and no one leaves until one is left standing.
The final chapter in The Hunger Games franchise has just hit cinemas, giving closure to the millions of fans worldwide.
Despite the on-set camaraderie, the cast and crew were physically and psychologically challenged during the Mockingjay – Part 2 sewer battle scenes. There are actually no more Hunger Games to show in this one, but the Capitol itself was turned into one large-scale Hunger Games arena when Katniss and company encounter the “pods” (which were spectacularly violent land mines). The Hunger Games series is inspired by the books written by Suzanne Collins. In it Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) has a talk with Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) about what they do.
Filming those final moments was intense for Lawrence and her costars Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth.
Being the amusing person she is, JLaw jokingly spoke about her attire of the night saying, “I don’t know how I’m going to sit to look demure and thin, ‘ she said”. I thought, and nearly said aloud, “really?“. We are reminded that peace comes with a price, love can endure, and it’s time to allow Katniss to take aim at fowl rather than foes.
To be fair, I’m sure it’ll make tons of money, but more out of sense of duty on the audience’s part, and not because it deserves it or is inspiring the passion the previous films did. Then again, none of the films have been, but this one takes it to a new level. It was also an easy way to differentiate herself from Prim once the Hunger Games movies were over. We need those characters and the films centered on them.
It is refreshing to see a lot of themes – and relevant themes, at that – being touched upon in a young adult adaptation. Following 2012’s “Hunger Games”, Lawrence’s box office average skyrocketed to $218.2 million.

For her part she is done with making speeches and propaganda videos and sees her job as eliminating Snow. Of course, as the army of the rebellion grows stronger an near their final target, the danger increases with a deadly trap around every corner as Katniss and her team move closer and closer to the Capitol’s center.
