Jos Buttler heroics lead England to 3-1 series win
The innings lit up the fourth and final ODI against Pakistan in Dubai and left cricket fans in no doubt that Buttler was back in form.

Needing 336 for victory, Pakistan looked like pulling it off as Azhar Ali, Babar Azam and Shoaib Malik went about their task.
Jos Buttler’s document-breaking century and a extra routine one from Jason Roy fired England to an eighty four-run win over Pakistan in a excessive-scoring last one-day worldwide in Dubai on Friday and a 3-1 victory within the series.
Buttler has now compiled England’s three quickest ODI hundreds, this latest effort comfortably surpassing his 61-ball ton against Sri Lanka last year that previously represented a record.
He rode his luck early on, but as his feet got moving and he became confident enough to hit against the spin, you saw why the England management rate him so highly.
Buttler joined the act as he smashed Iftikhar (0-18) for a six to complete the formality for England overhauling the Pakistan target in 41 overs.
Malik’s knock of 52 contained three fours and two sixes, and came off just 34 balls, but once Reece Topley had him caught by Alex Hales in the outfield in the 33rd over, it was only a matter of time, with the lower order bogged down by the pressure of the massive chase.
Morgan told BBC Sport: “I said before he went out that he’s the only one of us who can score a 60-ball hundred, and he’s done it in 46”.
Pakistan and India are scheduled to play two Tests, five one-day and two Twenty20 matches in United Arab Emirates (UAE) next month but the series is under serious doubt after a deadlock between the two boards.
But such was the violence of Buttler’s hitting that the Surrey batsman’s stylish 102 off 117 balls was a reduced to the supporting cast, as was Joe Root’s run-a-ball 71.
He was playing so well but was silly again, getting run out on 37.
“We’ve got a lot of hard work to do between now and then”.
After having lost the first match in the series, England staged a marvelous comeback by winning a couple of games on the trot.
England won the toss and they opted to bat first while fielding an unchanged team as Pakistan brought Ahmed Shehzad in to open the batting in place of Ifthikar Ahmed and Yasir Shah replaced Zafar Gohar.
He reached three figures off 46 balls, with eight sixes and eight fours to his name at that point.
“It’s the best I’ve ever played for England”, he said.
Ali, who took over as captain after Misbah-ul-Haq retired following the 2015 World Cup in March, said he would accept being replaced as captain.
“Credit to Buttler, but we could have done a lot better in the last few overs”.

Buttler began his attack with a six off Azhar and followed it up with three fours off Irfan. “To get 350-plus on that wicket really set the game up for us”, Morgan said.
