“It’s a bond created through trauma and needing comfort in these terrible situations”, said director Francis Lawrence. Lawrence is the big star in Hollywood and this movie focuses on Katniss from beginning to end. In the due course of time the series has become and integral part of her life too.

Katniss leads a small group on a daring assassination mission inside the capital as the rebel army attacks the outer walls. Katniss makes a huge case in the movie for the protection of civilians, especially as the rebels cause the avalanche in District 2 and Gale’s traps kill so many children (Priiiiiiiiiiiiiiiim!).
On the “plus” side, the love triangle is as strong as ever, yet the on screen chemistry between Peta and Katniss feels weaker than it did in previous films.

Hutcherson showed range as he gradually reverted back from insane Capitol Peeta into kind painter Peeta. “Fans will now have the chance to see the film in any format they want, which is exciting; we recently saw the 3-D version of Mockingjay – Part 1 before its release in China, and the new level of immersion was really fantastic”. “So even when I’m on a phenomenon like I am right now with “Game of Thrones” and ‘Hunger Games, ‘ I know better than to take anything for granted”. We were unsure. I knew there would be tears, but we never knew she’d be able to go there. And I think that this character is so overwhelmingly supportive of women. In fact, for most of the world-shaping events of Panem, she wasn’t even born yet.
I have to admit I lost track of what was happening to the various characters in a few of the scenes in this second part of the finale. The characters that are there, such as Julianne Moore’s President Alma Coin, are either restrained or one note. I dislocated my toe by hitting my own foot.
“Mockingjay – Part 2” may not reach the heights of the franchise’s top grossing film, “Catching Fire”, which made $424.6 million in the U.S.in 2013, but it should stand for fans as a celebration of a series that itself caught fire.

Other cast include: Jeffrey Wright as Beetee, Stanley Tucci as Caesar Flickerman, Wes Catham as Castor, Sarita Choudhury as Egeria, Eugenie Bondurant as Tigris, Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket, Philip Seymour Hoffman as Plutarch, Willow Shields as Primrose Everdeen and Woody Harrelson as Haymitch Abernathy. This is where I’m going to get myself into trouble because, personally, I was expecting so much more.
