Authorities say a 22-year-old pregnant woman has been stabbed to death and a local lawmaker says the baby is alive and has been hospitalized. She was rushed to the hospital, where she died. A 22-year-old woman was taken into custody screaming that the baby was hers.

The child survived the attack and investigators were working over the weekend to determine how far along in her pregnancy the victim was.
“She said she wanted to save the baby”, a police source with knowledge of the case said Saturday.
“The other lady, she looked sad when they took her out of the police auto and put her in the ambulance”, said neighbor Vivette Williams.
It was Patrick Bradley, Sutton’s boyfriend, who found the culprit covered in blood and holding the baby girl, which prompted him to call 911 straight away.
The identities of the two women have not been released.
Police are reportedly seeking a warrant to test whether Wade is pregnant amid claims she had told neighbours she was expecting.
Police found blood splattered on the property’s staircase, in a second floor bathroom and on the door of a bedroom where the victim was found.
Charges are now pending against the alleged attacker while she undergoes a psychiatric evaluation.
Police also said a key to solving the mystery may be a man who was inside the home at the time of the stabbing.

It was still unclear who gave birth to the child or if the victim was the mother.
