Revenge of Kuma is no longer available on Steam or the PlayStation Store. Details on its removal had been very scarce, until now.
There’s no word on whether or not Steam users will be offered a refund, but for anyone who purchased the game on PlayStation 4, the funds should have already been returned to your store wallet.
While Escalante noted, “if you look at the reviews, it wasn’t that the game was broken or buggy, people just didn’t like it”, many outlets actually did cite the game’s broken performance as part of the reason for low review ratings. “We could not do, in good conscience, volume 2 and volume 3”, he admitted lightly. Apart from the CGM interview, no announcements have been made on the game’s Steam page, nor through the game’s official social media channels.
Versus Evil released the game’s “volume 1” on September 22 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, to generally unfavorable reviews.
What are your thoughts on the Afro Samurai 2 debacle?
Remember Afro Samurai 2, the awful action title which faced much critical scorn and was reviled for its technical issues? Owners of the game have been refunded, according to GameSpot. So across the board we’re putting out an apology saying ‘sorry about this’.

Escalante also said that from a company and consumer viewpoint, taking the game off digital stores and automatically refunding buyers was the best decision. The original was developed by a different studio and published by Bandai Namco. The game’s soundtrack was produced by Robert Fitzgerald Diggs of American hip hop group Wu-Tang Clan.
