Adele’s 25 set to be one of best-selling albums in one week
Spears’ album “Oops!…I Did It Again” sold 1.32 million copies in a week back in 2000. “Over the next few days we will find out whether it can pass the magic half a million sales mark”. “And of course, we can’t forget that her last album has done more than 10 million copies in the U.S”.

Be Here Now, released in August 1997 still holds the record for 695,761 sales in its first week of release, but unlike the new offering from Adele that has received nearly universal praise, it was savaged by the critics on its release with many accusing it of being over-produced.
From 18 November, insiders reported to Billboard that parent company Sony Music is predicting first-week CD sales of over 1.5 million, while Apple digital sales are expected to reach around 900,000.
The hotly-anticipated 25 album by Hello chanteuse Adele looks set to make United Kingdom history as it notched up 300,000 sales on its release date yesterday (20 November).
‘With this mammoth first day sales tally, Adele has taken a further step towards greatness.
In a shifting record industry plagued by years of declining sales, the Adele bonanza is proof that while everything in the music business has changed, nothing has changed in the business of music. Hello, Adele’s first single from 25, has now sold 512,000 downloads and achieved 21.4m audio streams. If Adele sets the one-week sales record, she does it at as next month’s release of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is predicted to shatter the record for opening weekend box office sales, setting a new high water mark for Hollywood.
Now One Direction are top of the album charts with their fourth release Made In The A.M, which sold over 93,000 copies in its first week to – at that stage at least – become the fastest selling album of 2015.

“25”, like Adele’s previous album “21”, will continue to sell and sell long after the holiday shopping period ends.
