The Force Awakens sees Abrams take over the director’s chair of the Star Wars series for the first time and this is his first feature since Star Wars Into Darkness back in 2013.

It was revealed that the runtime on the J.J. Abrams directed movie will be 2 hours and 15 minutes, with the picture locked on November 3, 2015.
Explaining why he’d been unsure about having her reprise her role as Princess Leia, he continued: “She’d been writing more than she had been acting. It’s not uncovered who goofs, but rather it might be a character played by a returning performing artist like Han Solo (Harrison Ford)”, said Abrams.
The Royal rebel is referred to as “General” in the upcoming Star Wars Episode 7. J.
“She’s referred to as General”, Abrams told EW.
However, even though Leia will be well-known as a General in the Resistance, Entertainment Weekly reports that there will be an awkward scene where someone slips up and calls her princess. “She’s actually, she reminds me more than anyone I’ve met of Mike Nichols, which is why, I think, when they did Postcards From The Edge, they got along so famously”, he says. To whom she is saying that too, we don’t know. He did hint that the character will be integral to the plot of the new movie, but admitted that her backstory won’t be explored in it. However, he did say that books and videogames are already being planned to help flesh out Kanata’s origins at a few point in the future. Or it could well be Han Solo, with whom Leia shares a heart-wrenching embrace at a Resistance base. But both Ford and Fisher have been living it since 1977.

Previously during an interview Fisher revealed the entire old cast is pretty sick by each other.
