Those in MI should brace themselves for a major snow storm on Saturday that could leave up to 10 inches of snow in a few upper regions of the state.

In the city, two to five inches of snow could fall, Donofrio said Thursday.
Metro Detroit is getting a first taste of winter weather.
A winter storm warning has been extended until 6 p.m. for parts of the Chicago area. Steady snow throughout the day with heavy snow likely at times.
We are under a Winter Storm Warning until 1:00 Sunday morning.
In the southern Wisconsin town of Janesville, between 10 and 20 inches of snow had fallen by Saturday afternoon.
The ground is still pretty warm, but accumulation is possible, “so you’re going to want to watch for road conditions, too”, said weather service meteorologist Sara Schultz. The National Weather Service reports the snowfall rate could be up to an inch an hour in come places.
Enough snow will fall to cause slippery travel along thousands of miles of highways, including interstates 35, 75, 80 and 90/94 in the Midwest. MDOT is reporting snow covered roads around the area with reduced visibilities.

The storm will pass on Sunday, which should be sunny with highs in the low thirties and lows near twenty degrees. There will be enough cold air with this weather system for an inch or 2 of snow north of Indianapolis.
