Wolves ‘burnt’ by hot Curry
In the battle for the NBA’s MVP Award, Curry is building a campaign on his scoring prowess and is on pace for over 400 made three-pointers.

Curry finished with 46 points, on 25 shots, to lead Golden State to their best start in franchise history (10-0) in their 129-116 win over the Wolves.
Following an NBA-worst 16-66 finish last season, Minnesota has won at Denver, Chicago and Atlanta as part of a 4-0 road start that’s the franchise’s best since the 2001-02 season.
As Curry rose to take the shot, the 39-year-old Miller somehow got a hand on the ball and jarred it loose. “You sit there and wonder, if you don’t do those things and you just try to play him conventionally, he might get 60”.
Curry, who had been averaging more than 32 points per game prior to Wednesday’s clash, added to his season haul with another sparkling contribution, taking the game away from Memphis with a 17-point blitz in the third quarter. He shot 15-for-25 on the night, including 8-for-13 from 3-point range.
“He was decent tonight”.
“He’s just so risky”. He’s always in an attack mode.
Memphis tried to stay close in the fourth, but consecutive 3-pointers from Thompson and Green stretched the Golden State lead back to 86-71 with 6:29 left.
The Warriors opened defense of their title as emphatically as possible, using potshots from the likes of the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Clippers as fuel while blowing the doors off the league.
Considering all the Warriors and Curry have done this season as far as highlights go, this one seems pretty tame.
However, powered by energetics Andrew Wiggins, Karl-Anthony Towns and Ricky Rubio, the Timberwolves look more like a contender in the West and enter Sunday’s meeting as favourite, while Memphis (3-6) who have lost four games in row, continue to lack inspiration.
Curry scored 21 of his points in the first quarter and the Warriors never trailed.
The Warriors scored the game’s first 10 points, including six by Curry.
Draymond Green had a near triple-double performance, with 23 points, 12 assists and 8 rebounds.
Don’t get too excited, though, Minnesota fans: Luke Walton just put Curry, who has 38 points on just 20 shots, back into the game.
“That’s the way it goes in this league”, Knicks coach Derek Fisher said. “He played a few big minutes last night but obviously it was going to depend on how the game went”.
According to the largest online retailer of officially licensed sports merchandise, Fanatics.com, Curry is the top-selling National Basketball Association player and the Warriors are the top-selling team.

Before Thursday night’s high-profile matchup with the Golden State Warriors, Timberwolves coach Sam Mitchell carried on a little longer than usual in his pregame interview session.
