The CBI, however, doubts that Peter was also privy to nearly all the information Indrani had messaged to Rahul, emailed to Sheena’s landlord and her employers to give an impression Sheena was alive.

Though all these messages were sent when Peter was in the United Kingdom, the CBI suspects after his return he had knowledge of Indrani’s messages and emails but he kept quiet.
The charges include those of kidnapping, murder, criminal conspiracy, destruction of evidence and attempt to murder.
It also states that Rahul met Sheena at Peter’s house and their friendship grew into love.
The CBI Magistrate on Friday saw Indrani Mukerjea wiping her tears for hours in court.
Saturday was the second day when Rahul defended his father over his alleged involvement in the murder of Sheena, ever since Peter’s arrest in connection with the sensational crime on Thursday night.
CBI had submitted earlier than courtroom that Rahul and Sheena have been about to get married and, “after that, she (Sheena) might have gotten a share of property”.
Following that Sheena’s half-sister allegedly sent her a SMS warning Sheena of a possible threat to her life from Indrani Mukerjea, reports, ToI. Indrani told the associate she was “shocked”. His telephonic audio recording with Peter and Indrani will also prove to be an important evidence to nail Peter.
“Government assistance to the CBI on the directions of chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, and their swiftness in taking the case forward, led to the premier investigation agency filing the chargesheet before time”, he added.
Though Indrani’s lawyer Gunjan Mangla could not be contacted, her former husband and accused Sanjeev Khanna’s lawyer Shreyansh Mithare said he is yet see the chargesheet.
It further read that while the girl’s face was battered, Sheena thought her face did resemble the photograph of her mother (Indrani Bora), but was much younger.
Though an entry about the discovery of a body was made in the Station Diary (SD) was made, the Raigad police chose to do a panchanama and collected samples of the body, before burying the body. Sources in the home department said the one-page report that was submitted by former DGP Sanjeev Dayal to Bakshi was incomplete, but it clearly pointed out that the then Raigad superintendent of police, RD Shinde, was negligent and issued instructions to his juniors that no case be registered despite a body (then unidentified but confirmed later that it was Sheena’s) being found, and the case appearing like one involving murder. It said that four serious charges have been levelled against him.

On November 3, the judicial custody of Indrani, and the remaining two accused was extended till November 7 after their earlier remand had ended.
