Indiana unemployment rate drops to 4.4 percent for October, lowest since

The unemployment rate in Solano County increased slightly for October, one of several months to experience an uptick during a year that has seen a steady decline in jobless figures, according to data released Friday by the California Employment Development Department. The San Joaquin County unemployment rate climbed to 8.1 percent from last month’s 7.4 percent. “Year over year, we continue to see stronger-than-average job creation compared to the rest of the nation”, Kaglic said, adding that North and SC are experiencing job growth rates of 2.2 percent and 2.9 percent, respectively, compared with the national average 2 percent.

“The state’s unemployment rate continues to improve, falling to 4.1 percent in October”, said Kansas Secretary of Labor, Lana Gordon.

For October 2015, Florida’s unemployment rate was 5.1 percent, the lowest since January 2008. There were 153,000 manufacturing jobs in October, down 3,900 from a year ago. “The wage and salary employment is at its highest level for the year”.

Over the last 12 months, the county gained 85,000 jobs for a robust growth rate of 2 percent.

Unemployment in greater Sacramento has fallen 1.1 percentage points from a year earlier.

Amarillo had the lowest statewide unemployment rate during October at 3.2 percent. The next highest was Hardee County at 7.9 percent, down from 8.6 percent in September. Trade, transportation and utilities posted the month’s largest gain, adding 3,900 jobs.

County numbers are not adjusted for seasonal fluctuations, but they are still lower than the state’s overall unemployment rate.

“Today we are proud to announce that October was the highest month for job growth in ten years, with 36,600 private-sector jobs created in Florida”.

The number of nonagricultural jobs in the state rose by 30,800 to 5.43 million last month, with the biggest gains in education and health services (up 8,300), leisure and hospitality (up 7,000), and construction and manufacturing (each up 5,800), the report shows.
