After 9/11, the world was pushed into a forced and impetuous war on terror by the president of the United States in 2001. Most will have to survive in a war-torn region.
Republicans have grown increasingly bold in calling for ground troops to fight the jihadists: Longshot presidential hopeful Senator Lindsey Graham said he wants 10,000 USA troops deployed as part of an global coalition battling the Islamic State group.
Do we unite in our march forward, even stronger and more compassionate than we were before, or do we collectively blame an entire group, in this case Muslims, or those perceived to be Muslims (like turbaned and bearded Sikhs), isolate them, hate them, fear them, and commit violence against them? “There are, living on our soil, individuals who from delinquency go on to radicalisation and then to terrorist criminality”.
The recent ISIS terrorist attacks in Paris should not overshadow the refugee crisis.
In his address, he distinguishes between Muslims and Islamic extremists in an effort to discourage Islamophobia. But while these political leaders of the world are being reasonable, there is not going to be a substantial change in the status quo.
On Friday, the Democratic National Committee released an advertisement that attempted to criticize Republicans for using the phrase “radical Islamic terrorism” when describing ISIS and the perpetrations of the terrorist attacks in Paris.
In neighboring Lebanon, a convincing 100% of the population surveyed had an unfavorable opinion of the terrorist outfit, while Jordan reported 94% and Palestine 84%.

However, I believe strongly the voices of Muslims decrying how their faith has been twisted and corrupted by religious fanatics must be taken seriously and trusted by those outside the Muslim community. And that includes Tea Party people, anti-abortion activists, supporters of gun rights, the NRA, and conservatives in general – all of whom have been called “terrorists” by a few lefty nitwit or another.
