The unemployment mark is the lowest for the state since January 2008.
In October 2015, the Palm Bay‐Melbourne‐Titusville metro area had the second‐fastest annual job growth rate in education and health services (+6.8 percent) of all Florida metro areas.
“Not only are we seeing the highest wage and salary employment numbers of the year, we’ve also surpassed 2015 growth expectation by almost 8,000 jobs”, Alabama Department of Labor Commissioner Fitzgerald Washington said.
The number of manufacturing jobs in Arkansas continues to decline. The state’s job increases have yielded a 1.7 percent annual growth rate continuing its string of positive annual growth for 66 consecutive months.
The unemployment rates for Grand Island, Lincoln and Omaha have not been seasonally adjusted, so they can not be directly compared with the state unemployment rate.
A hiring rebound in October added 271,000 jobs, the most this year.
There were 180,500 jobs in the educational and health services sector in October, up 5,400 jobs in the past year.
In a news release, Gov. Rick Scott focused on the creation of 36,600 private-sector jobs across the state during the month. Energy has last 32,900 jobs over the last 12 months, a 10 percent decline. Trade, transportation and utilities also added 1,100 jobs, with 1,600 new jobs in retail trade more than offsetting losses in other subsectors. Blue Lake reported the lowest unemployment with 2.2 percent, according to the data.
