The tree has come all the way from Alaska for the first time. “Because we’ve gone through a lot”. There were more than a dozen tree-related events along the way.

The tree will be decorated with thousands of ornaments, handcrafted by children and others from Alaska communities.

The actual tree lighting ceremony doesn’t take place until December, but in the meantime, the caretakers have plenty to do to stabilize, decorate and prepare the tree for its moment to shine.
