2 puppies found trapped inside aquarium along MS creek bed

With the help of Hinds County sheriff’s deputies, the puppies were rescued and taken to the Mississippi Animal Rescue League, where hopefully, they will recover. The bad discovery happened in Hinds County, MS. Such news are always welcomed with shock and grief, especially when they happen in isolated cases, or close to our homes.

According to WAPT, Matt Williamson spotted the trapped dogs while he was searching for his own pet. The top of the aquarium was cemented shut, he said.

Another equally bleak scenario is that the pups might have drowned, if water had somehow infiltrated through the lid, filling the tank completely.

“As I got closer, I saw these eyes peering out at me and they looked pretty desolate, like they needed help”, Williamson told the station. “That’s when I called authorities”.

The black and white puppies were later transported to the Animal Rescue League of Mississippi. According to Director Debra Boswell, it appears that the abandoned furry creatures had been left traumatized by their previous owners. They ended up with a fever though. On the creek bank were the two pups locked inside with the lid cemented shut.

The puppies were to remain in isolation for a few days, WAPT said, adding that once they’re healthy, they will be put up for adoption.
