Kerr wins title, Ko takes $1 million, Park going to Hall

Ko banked over one million dollars this season and captured the Rolex Player of the Year.

Park finished in sixth, beating Ko by a tiny margin for the scoring crown – three shots over the course of the season. “The positive way is I’m glad and I should be proud that I’m in this position”. Ko, 18, became the fourth player to go from rookie of the year one year to player of the year the next. “At the same time, because everything is on the line, there is more added pressure”.

“What triggered it more is what a tough day it was”, she said.

“I think the weather is ideal today but my condition is really bad right now”, Jang said.

Park came into the tournament, and even the final round, with a chance at the tournament title, the $1 million Race to the CME Globe, the money list title, the Player of the Year, and the Vare Trophy.

“It’s been a long season”. “When you defend something or do something back to back, it’s always cool to do that”. If the golfers are able to play, the outlook for competitive drama is great.

She said the nosebleeds started after a grueling front nine when she made one bogey and one birdie – but still played her final seven holes in 2 under. Kerr’s eagle 3 on the 17th hole gave her the winning edge and was the highlight of a Sunday 4-under 68.

“In hindsight, I probably should have gone with a different club and a different shot”, McIlroy said of his problems at the 17th. “But I thought that is probably the easiest out of the four or five things that was going on”. He also won the Australian PGA, the third major Down Under, at 51. I had a lot of lip-outs, a lot of close ones, but they just weren’t dropping. “Obviously, this is the way it is, and I have got to deal with whatever I have”. I tried to stay patient all day.

She eagled the par-5 17th but a closing bogey dropped her back level with Kerr for the top spot.

Jang shot the round of the day, with eight birdies and one bogey.
