Nadal claims “Novak is nearly unbeatable”
After losing the French Open final to Stan Wawrinka, Djokovic returned to win the Wimbledon with a 7-6, 6-7, 6-4, 6-3 victory over Roger Federer in the final.

In the opening set, Djokovic did not need to play his best to win. Without the support of those closest to me I wouldn’t be managing to get to where I am.
I am enjoying every moment on the court, I cherish every moment after dreaming of it as a kid.
Novak Djokovic insists he can still deliver better, but played down suggestions he was focused on chasing the grand slam tallies of rivals Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
Still, a year ago, Federer was forced to throw in the towel to Djokovic before he even stepped on court for the final. Only four men have ever posted better figures for a single year – John McEnroe, Jimmy Connors, Federer and Bjorn Borg – and surely none of them were operating in such a powerful era of talent.
There is one more match to play this season, and there is plenty riding on it for both Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer. “I had to change something I didn’t play well (on Tuesday)”.
Against Nadal on Saturday, Djokovic showed why he is the best player in the world. “For me the main goal is to try to arrive in good shape next year”.
The serve set the tone. It was one of my favorite 10 days of my life if I just talk about tennis.
Bopanna-Mergea came back strongly in the second set by serving four aces and winning seven out of 10 first serve points. It was his 11th tournament victory in 15 finals this year (another tour record) and left his stats for the year as played 88, won 82, lost six.
The result also means Andy Murray is guaranteed to finish the year ahead of Federer at world number two for the first time. I tried my best this week, .
“How I’m able to play at net now, how I’m moving and feeling at net in particular is a great thing to have”. Thought I played a few great tennis, even in the finals: a few points were insane. Congratulations on a ridiculous year.
The 17-time Grand Slam victor won the most sensational point of the match by ending a back-and-forth exchange with a big smash yet it still wasn’t enough to prevent Djokovic holding his serve to go 4-3 up.
With no mind-boggling talents coming up through the ranks just now, it is hard to see who is going to end Djokovic’s reign – which has lasted on and off since the beginning of the 2011 season. Federer handed Djokovic just his sixth loss of the year in the round-robin segment – a win that nudged Federer back out in front in their rivalry, 23-22.
He missed a routine shot when a chance opened up to make it 3-3 and Djokovic made him pay by breaking again to take the set. But when the top-seeded was stressed he had the answer cranking crosscourt backhands into Federer’s weaker backhand wing.
A big smash enabled Federer to roar through his third service game and then earned break point – it was the crucial moment of the first set as he failed to capitalise and Djokovic was let off the hook.

Djokovic’s consistency throughout 2015 was astonishing and the way in which he dominated all phases of the game – including the most crucial battleground of all in sports, that of players’ psyches – was incredible considering the increasingly physical nature of the sport.
