It is unclear whether the auto collision was an accident or intentional, but the Israeli police spokesperson, Micky Rosenfeld, said the Palestinian “walked out of his vehicle with a knife in his hand and was shot dead”.

Israel is in the midst of a wave of terror attacks that has so far claimed the lives of 16 Israelis, a USA citizen, an Eritrean national and a Palestinian bystander in a series of near-daily stabbings, shootings or car-ramming attacks perpetrated by mainly Palestinian assailants.
A Palestinian woman was killed after allegedly trying to stab Israelis in the West Bank on Sunday, Israeli military and police said.
Palestinians point to fears of changes to the status quo at the Dome of the Rock – Islam’s third most holy site but known to Jews as Temple Mount – as the spark for the violence.
US Secretary of State John Kerry will visit the Middle East from Sunday to Tuesday, in a trip that will take him to Israel for the first time since the summer of 2014.
Three Palestinians and one Israeli died on Sunday in three new stabbing attacks and attempts, allegedly by Palestinians against Israelis.
Netanyahu said he had ordered security forces to “coordinate their efforts in the Hebron district, from which most or all of the attacks are originating”. Meanwhile, 15 Israelis have been killed in attacks by Palestinians. A Jewish settler who was driving by rammed her with his auto, and she was also shot by Israeli troops at the scene.
On Saturday, the Israeli military raided a Palestinian radio station in Hebron and confiscated equipment it said was being used to broadcast calls to attack Israelis.
The violence has since spread across Israel into the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip.
Israel have blamed the violence on the actions of Palestinian political and religious leaders.
Local media reported that the American killed was identified as Ezra Schwartz, 18, from MA.

A senior USA official said Kerry would discuss ways of trying to stem the violence but would not try to renewed negotiations on a state that Palestinians seek in territories Israel captured in 1967.
