Weather for November 23: Sunny, cold

An area of low pressure swings a cold front closer and that will bring rain Thanksgiving and lasting through Black Friday. Highs will struggle to get to the low 30’s both Saturday and Sunday, with lows in the teens Saturday night.

Temperatures in Central IL will slowly increase this week, with a high near 60 degrees on Thanksgiving Day.

The Santa Ana winds that pushed coastal temperatures into the 80s on Saturday and Sunday will fade out by Monday.

Sunny weather is expected for the rest of the week, with temperatures gradually rising into the mid 50s by Wednesday. Temperatures are expected to return to near normal during the workweek, with no rain in sight. The National Weather Service predicted 6 to 8 inches of snow in the Madison area between Friday night and Saturday afternoon.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 49. The variability for low temperatures is not as high, ranging from the mid-20s to the lower 40s.

Monday Sunny, with a high near 50. Then everything depends on timing for Tuesday night as showers will still be likely just as cold air starts wedging into our area; this combination could result in a few mixed rain and snow followed by icy conditions as temps drop to freezing.
