The world is still reeling from the Paris attacks that left scores dead and more injured, and the entertainment sector is also trying to get a handle on how to move forward. However, they also noted they did not “have specific or credible information of an attack at this time”.
Apart from the Atlanta Stadium, Anonymous also claimed that IS planned on attacking the Feast of Christ celebration in Rome and worldwide, Al-Jihad, 1 Day Juz in Indonesia, Five Finger Death Punch in Milan, Italy, and University Pastoral Day in Lebanon.
The last of WWE’s “Big Four” pay-per-views is set for Sunday night in Atlanta with Survivor Series 2015.
11Alive has since heard from officials at Philips Arena who said they are opening the doors Sunday at 6 p.m. due to the increased security. Its efforts are aimed at helping to help identify and attack websites and social media accounts of the terrorist organization. Charlotte and the Brothers of Destruction saw the money shift in their favor heavily, as both are heavy favorites in their Survivor Series matches.
The Times story had said the alleged plots were discovered by the hacking group Anonymous, but that group said it was not responsible for the report.
“Expect massive cyber-attacks”, a voice said in a video announcing the planned hackings on ISIS.
Despite news of the alleged threat, many said they aren’t changing how they live their life.
“Although the FBI has not found any credible threats relating to any events in the city, the Atlanta Police Department (APD) is actively monitoring the situation and is coordinating closely with our federal and state partners”. The information was then passed to government agencies including the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA).
