The two attackers were shot by police, one fatally, and another was taken to a nearby hospital.

The 70-year-old man stabbed by the teenager was also a Palestinian, a resident of the Israeli-occupied West Bank whom she apparently mistook for an Israeli.

Mahane Yehuda is Jerusalem’s best known market and is a popular tourist destination.

Shock: A woman is taken away by emergency services after the attack.

Information on the condition of the two teen attackers was not available.

With the attacks defying global efforts to restore calm, US Secretary of State John Kerry is to travel to Israel and the West Bank to meet Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas tomorrow.

The Israeli military said in a statement that the attack was at a junction south of Nablus. There have been several instances of Palestinians using their cars as weapons by crashing them into Israelis in recent weeks.

The incident came after an earlier terror attack outside the Jerusalem market on Monday morning.

The current wave of unrest began in mid-September over tensions surrounding a sensitive Jerusalem holy site.

Later, a Palestinian driving a taxi tried to run over civilians and then charged at them with a knife before a civilian shot him dead, police said.

The head of the Gush Etzion Regional Council said he was sure there were steps the government was not taking to protect Israelis in the West Bank.

The suspected terrorist was shot and killed.
