As expected, Romo in starting lineup for Cowboys at Dolphins

The ultimate measure of Tony Romo’s return to action was reflected by the Dallas Cowboys ending a seven-game losing streak Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.

The Cowboys are back in the win column.

It was the comfort Cowboys offensive coordinator Scott Linehan had in using his entire playbook, a luxury Dallas didn’t enjoy with Matt Cassel and the now-released Brandon Weeden filling in for Romo. “We went up against a tough team, physical. It’s one of those teams you have to stand up and fight and outlast them, and our guys did that”. The defense produced a pick six and after Romo’s two interceptions forced Miami punts.

Romo went 18 for 28 for 227 yards.

McFadden rushed 29 times for 129 yards, including nine carries for 40 yards in the final 6 minutes as the Cowboys controlled the ball and the clock. “The two turnovers are plays he wants to have back, but he made a ton of other plays”. Directly tied to Miami’s abandoning the running game is their inability to ever get ahead of the chains.

The Cowboys offense has not been able to maintain the sort of production they demonstrated last season, as Romo and Bryant both sat out for an extended period of time with injuries.

It looked like they were starting to figure it out last week against Philadelphia when the held a top 10 Eagles rush attack to 83 rushing yards on 2.3 yards per carry. He completed 13 of 24 passes for 188 yards and one interception. The Dolphins meantime are 4-5 overall and 1-2 at home.

“(Dropped passes) and penalties really killed us”, Campbell said. We’ve got rain. (Miami’s) got a good defensive line, maybe as good as we’re going to go up against, and they come out with a few great coverage stuff we hadn’t seen’.

Remember, they play in the NFC East, which means they are a mere two games out of first place. They also have a daunting game at Green Bay in Week 14.

The truth of the 2015 season is that the Dolphins were over-hyped and aren’t very good, Believing that this inconsistent team will go 6-0 the rest of the season like linebacker Kelvin Sheppard pledged after Sunday’s game is the equivalent of believing in Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy. But if you are the Cowboys, you live with it because of all the positive plays he makes.

After a scoreless first quarter, Rolando McClain got Dallas on the board with a 12 yard interception return for a touchdown on the first play of the second quarter. Therefore, the team is financially committed to Tannehill for at least two or three more seasons.

Romo, who seemingly has just as many detractors as he has supporters, came back on Sunday after missing seven games due to a broken collarbone.

This is a photo of Tony Romo of the Dallas Cowboys NFL football… Both players had statistically their second-best games of the season, primarily because Miami’s defense had to remain honest throughout the game; McFadden finally saw a box with less than eight defenders in it and Williams once again saw single coverage on nearly every snap, which resulted in his first touchdown since Week 4. He made a big throw on the a 31-yard TD pass to Terence Williams.
