Jackson is the university’s first Rhodes Scholar. While studying overseas at Hebrew University, Kovan spent her free time serving in Israel’s national ambulance corps.
Garrett Lam, a 2012 Wellesley High School graduate who is now a senior at Harvard University with a joint concentration in neurobiology and philosphy, has been named one of 16 Rhodes Scholarship winners for 2016.
Ding’s scholarship is worth about $50,000 per year for two or three years.

At Notre Dame, Mediate was a Dean’s Fellow in the College of Arts and Letters and a Kellogg Institute global Scholar. Hyland said she and 11 other finalists were interviewed in the morning, then waited seven hours while the selection board deliberated. A Rhodes Scholar should also show great promise of leadership. Officers allege Makhmudov is a politics major with a minor in environmental & worldwide research.
The winners also include a student from the University of Pennsylvania and another who calls northern New Jersey home.
“I still don’t know”, he said. “I channel as much credit as possible to all those who’ve helped me get here, which is more than I could possibly name”.

Ruckelshaus plans to pursue a master’s of philosophy degree in political theory at Oxford. “I think they’re aware of how stressful it is”.
