Sunday’s debacle at Lincoln Financial Field against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had the feel of a loss that arrives towards the end of a coaching regime when players start to point fingers or simply quit on the coach. This week, it does look like the Eagles will have to turn to Mark Sanchez in this contest. Winston had gone four straight games without a turnover, only to lose the ball last game in his contest against the Cowboys.
Sanchez threw a pair of TD passes and three interceptions in his first start replacing injured Sam Bradford, but Chip Kelly’s offense couldn’t keep up with Winston and the Buccaneers.

The Bucs’ put up 521 yards of total offense. They come to the line with two tight ends, an extra offensive lineman and only one receiver, Vincent Jackson. The Eagles counter by putting nine defenders in the box. Winston then tossed a 4-yard pass to Evans to tie it 7-7. His 84-yard run was longest in franchise history.
But it did, and the Bucs have clawed their way back to.500. TE Brent Celek has four catches for 134 yards.
Three plays later, the Bucs are in a similar position – it’s third-and-5 near midfield.
Winston schooled the Eagles defense and coordinator Billy Davis. This time he went 84 yards right up the middle before finally being pushed out of bounds by Connor Barwin at the 1. Winston anticipates when Humphries will be open on his crossing route, and the Bucs move into the red zone. Winston went on to score the winning touchdown with 54 seconds left.
The Buccaneers were 10 for 16 on third downs. We didn’t stop the run.
