Young Israeli killed in West Bank stabbing attack
Israel Defense Forces soldiers have begun checking all Palestinian vehicles on roads used by Israelis in the Hebron and Bethlehem areas, as well as carrying out random inspections on vehicles in other parts of the West Bank.

On Sunday, a female Palestinian tried to stab two Israeli women at a junction popular with Jewish settlers near the West Bank city of Nablus, Israeli police and military spokespeople said.
In the scissors attack at Jerusalem’s Mahane Yehuda market, the only victim substantially injured by the assailants was a 70-year-old Palestinian man, police spokeswoman Luba Samri said in a text message.
Since October 1, Israeli troops or armed settlers have killed at least 93 Palestinians, including unarmed bystanders, protesters and suspected attackers. She was said to be in stable condition after being stabbed in one of her limbs.
In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday announced new security measures in the West Bank including segregating roads and withdrawing work permits to the families of attackers. One of them was killed and the second suffered serious wounds and was evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.
An Israeli man was reportedly also wounded by bullet shrapnel.
Maan also reported that a young woman, named as Samah Abdel Mumin Ahmed, was shot in the head when Israeli fire hit her auto close to the checkpoint. She was subsequently shot by security forces at the scene.
Today’s stabbing was the first attack in Jerusalem in almost two weeks.
Israeli police say two Palestinian women stabbed an Israeli man with scissors in a central Jerusalem marketplace before they were shot by an officer. Nineteen Israelis have also been killed during this period. Netanyahu has blamed incitement by Palestinian leaders for the near-daily assaults, charging them of falsely accusing the Israeli government of planning changes to existing rules on worship at Jerusalem’s holiest Muslim shrine, the al-Aqsa mosque. A few of the injured in the attack were said to be Americans, added Israeli media.
