There’s no word yet on what Season 3’s story will be or whether it will be connected to either of the first two seasons.
After a stellar second season so far, FX has elected to order a third season of Fargo, according to a press release issued today. Other members of the season two cast include Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons, Ted Danson, Cristin Milioti, Jean Smart, Brad Garrett and Nick Offerman.
Fargo’s first season won three Emmy Awards in 2014, including prizes for Outstanding Miniseries and Outstanding Directing in a Miniseries, and it picked up nominations in three of the four major acting categories.
Joel and Ethan Coen are on board to continue as executive producers. The pickup comes in the midst of the anthology’s second season.
Are you excited to hear about Fargo season three?
“Fargo” has been drawing a 0.3 or 0.4 in adults 18-49 in same-day ratings this fall and averages about 1.2 million viewers.
In his sophomore season review, Variety’s Brian Lowry said, “FX’s frost-covered drama appears to have equaled its splendid predecessor, capturing the same off-kilter tone while actually enhancing the comedy quotient”.
